ブラックブックとは何か ?

from japanese-americana, to european tailoring, avant garde streetwear, and everything between.

BLACKBOOK New York Menswear Magazine is a publication founded by raw denim enthusiast and menswear expert Alejandro Jomar, who has 14+ years in the fashion industry, and 10 years experience in reporting on men's fashion trends. Alejandro Jomar has dedicated his life to bridging the world of Heritage Style, Japanese-Americana menswear, European Style tailoring, and high-end Avant Garde luxury garments, giving a truly unique expression on Men's Fashion.

Alejandro Jomar has also dedicated his life and career to the Japanese menswear industry, taking the libery to teach himself the Japanese Language (still learning,) and create the free 'Saving Selvedge | Japanese Men's Fashion Documentary', in which he took his first solo-trip to Japan, and traveled the mainland of Honshu, from Tokyo to Yokohama, Kamakura, Hakone, Yokosuka, Osaka, Okayama City and finally the famed Kojima Jeans Street, where Alejandro Jomar interviews individuals in the fashion space of Japan throughout the 'Saving Selvedge.'

BLACKBOOK New York came about when Alejandro Jomar decided his work was not done with 'Saving Selvedge', and wanted to tell the story of Men's Fashion through his own lens as a native born-and-raised New Yorker, with a special appreciation for the Japanese Culture that brought him in with kindess and love when he went to the country with no expectations. The name 'BLACKBOOK' comes from the Graffiti-Artists term for their "sketchbook," in which Graf-Artists would test our their ideas, hone their styles, and storyboard their thoughts, all in one place.

This magazine is Alejandro's version of his own BLACKBOOK, for the world to see.
